At Hemingway's By the Sea we have two spacious suite and one luxurious room for you to enjoy. The Hemingway Suite is the largest at 750 square feet. The Serengeti is the next largest at 725 square feet. These two suites have all the amenities you will require for a great, comfortable stay. The Key West Room has a queen bed. It is possible to expand the Key West Room if you need additional space. Please inquire if you have this need. From June to September we operate an extra two bedroom apartment and one extra room. See below.
At Hemingway's we will assist you with bookings for activities during your stay in Victoria. We make it easy for you to have a good time and relax!
PLEASE NOTE: We do not like charging taxes, but are required to do so by law. Rates shown do not include Taxes. As of July 1, 2010 all accommodations in BC will be required to pay 12% HST (all based on double occupancy. Additional persons will be charged $35 per night and will be subject to current taxes as well.
THE HEMINGWAY SUITE: Enjoy 750 square feet of spacious, luxurious accommodations in the Hemingway Suite. The suite features a king size antique brass bed with romantic canopy silk curtains. The suite also has a very comfortable hideaway bed suitable for one person. The suite is decorated with antiques and features a cozy, wood burning fireplace, perfect for relaxing after a day of seeing the sites in Victoria.
A small kitchenette includes a microwave, coffee maker and bar fridge, with a table in the room. We provide coffee and tea service to your room in the morning. Free Wireless Internet is also available.
Fresh flowers, CD player, in room thermostat, hair dryer and walk in closet are also provided. The oversized ensuite bathroom includes a double soaker tub for two, 2 showers, a relaxing steam bath (sauna) and bathrobes.
French doors open up to your own private, sunny, large balcony with flowers and umbrella chairs for lounging. Sit back and enjoy the views of the gardens and of the Olympic Mountains. Ideal for 2-3 guests. This suite is great for a honeymoon or romantic getaway.

THE SERENGETI SUITE: Ideal for those seeking all the conveniences of a furnished apartment, but with the comforts only a quality B&B can provide, enjoy the Serengeti Suite in comfort and luxury!
This elegant, spacious 725 square foot suite features a king size canopy bed, cozy fireplace and comfortable double hide-a-bed. The fully appointed kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, dishes, coffee maker, with a dining table and seating for four. We provide coffee and tea service to your room in the morning.
Full ensuite bathroom includes a soaker tub to relax in, shower, hair dryer and bathrobes are provided. The suite has fresh flowers, CD/DVD player, in room thermostat, walk in closet and TV and it is very private. Large bay window offers stunning views of the gardens and the Olympic Mountains. THE KEY WEST ROOM: This is a beautifully appointed room. Bright and cozy with an elegant antique queen bed, two comfortable sitting chairs and a table. Private bathroom with bathrobes provided. Key West offers spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains from the large bay window. TV, fridge, in room thermostat and coffee maker. Ideal for 2 people.
The Key West Suite can be expanded to include an adjoining space that will include another double bed allowing 2 more guests sleeping arrangements. If you require the additional space, please indicate that when you make your room booking. There will be an additional nightly charge of $99.00 Canadian plus 12% HST for the extra space.

THE KENYA ROOM: A cozy queen-size bed- in an African theme room with views to the Olympic Mountains, and cruise ships and much more. The room contains a round table, with 2 chairs, a fridge, coffee machine, glasses and mugs, a TV and a large private full-bathroom with tub and shower, robes, a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.

APARTMENT (Lion's Den) RATES: The full apartment rents for just $178 plus tax for 2 people. Yes, that is two rooms with two queen beds for just $178 per night. The apartment can accommodate up to 4 people, so each additional person is $35.00 per night, plus HST tax. So, if there are just two of you and you need your own bed, this is the space for you! Please note: the Apartment (Lion's Den) is only available from June to September.
Cancellation Policy: 10- day cancellation policy. Your accommodation confirmation is guaranteed with one night's deposit at time of booking. Full balance payable upon arrival by Visa, Master card, traveler's schedules or cash. To cancel a reservation, a written notice is required and must be acknowledged by your host, it must be received 10 days prior to your arrival date to receive a full refund (less a $35.00 CAN administration fee).

We are a non-smoking accommodation and permit smoking only outside on the terrace or in the gardens.
If you are staying 3 or more nights at Hemingways by the Sea B&B please ask about our special. We are also happy to accommodate you with wine, beautiful flowers, excellent chocolate ...ect. Discuss this with the owner, Ilona.
For weekly stays , your confirmation is guaranteed with 25% deposit. Minimum 15 days notice required for return of deposit, less $35 (Canadian) processing fee.
For monthly stays, your confirmation is guaranteed with 1/2 of the month/s rate.
